Best practices in collaborative mental health care continue to be brought to the forefront.

In Phase 1, the Canadian Collaborative Mental Health Initiative researched and showcased numerous best practices and collaborative care initiatives.

As part of Phase 2, the Canadian Collaborative Mental Health Initiative invited stakeholders to showcase their collaborative programs, projects, and initiatives in a special issue of the Canadian Journal of Community Mental Health called “Advancing collaborative mental health care in primary care”, Fall 2008. The special issue is intended to showcase new approaches to collaboration among mental health care providers, consumer and self-help initiatives, and primary health care providers by describing and evaluating new programs and practices in clinical care, the organization of health service delivery models, training of health care providers, promotion and prevention, consumer participation, new partnerships with community agencies and successful approaches to the management of chronic health problems.
